What If Your Purpose Isn’t Meant to Be a Job Title?
For the longest time, I thought that if I couldn’t put my purpose into a clear job title, I wasn’t doing it right...
I mean, being at a job is probably where we spend most of our time! So it is a BIG part of our lives. Since I've started discovering the spiritual, energy healing world, I've pressured myself to think that this is what I need to do to live in my purpose.
And to add to that, several coaches I’ve worked with have told me I’m highly intuitive and that I’m meant to be a healer or spiritual guide of some kind. I took that seriously, and it started to feel like a rule I had to follow!
If my main job or title isn't "life coach", "healer", "spiritual something"... then am I really in my purpose? Am I really fulfilling my Life mission?
You know, when you were a kid and adults asked you, "What do you wanna be when you grow up?" And you would answer something like "Firefighter!" "Veterinarian!" "Doctor!".
So BEING was associated with a job title. It was culturally ingrained into our brains that our purpose in life is to pursue a successful career, have kids, get married, buy a house, etc. So a job title has always been seen as an important part of our identities.
So when you're in the spiritual world, knowing that you want to help people and make a difference by using more spiritual methods like energy healing, spiritual coaching, intuition, etc...
It's easy to think that THIS should be our MAIN job title, and that this is what we are supposed to do MOST of our time. Not just as a side hobby.. that wouldn't be ENOUGH time passed on it to call it a soul/life purpose! Right?
But what if our Soul's purpose is not about a job or a role, but an energy? What if it's a vibe, a frequency you need to be in? What if it's more about BEING and not about DOING?
Maybe your purpose...
is how you bring light into the world.
is the quiet impact your presence has on others.
is to help others heal by sharing your experience and journey.
is just being your true self, and in doing so, having an impact around you.
These things can be expressed through many different paths:
Career (yes)
Relationships
Art
Just your presence...
Your soul doesn't speak in "job titles". It speaks in ENERGIES. Information in a frequency form.
You can express what your soul wants to express in many different ways, and you live your purpose through the experiences that you are having here on earth.
How does this change what you're going to do in the future?
Maybe you will stop pressuring yourself to find THE perfect career!
I'm saying that because... I'll be honest... I'm still struggling with this myself! I have been searching for THE perfect career for so long! And every time I end up doing something different than what I picture it is supposed to look like, I feel like I have failed or I am not aligned.
We need to approach this differently now. Instead of trying to find the perfect role or job, it is more about following our intuitive nudges.
We need to embody our purpose in our everyday lives. Our intuition is already trying to guide us in being in alignment with who we truly are. We need to follow that, even when it doesn't look like we'd expect.
And guess what, it also means that we don't need to have it all figured out NOW! Our purpose is not a super clear action or project that we need to do. It can shift as we move forward. It can evolve as we evolve.
If we can start to embody our purpose every day, we can start being more open to new, creative paths and opportunities that we would have never seen or thought of before. We can start trusting our own timing more.
So how to you get started on this new way of being?
Start by exploring what you LOVE to do.
What brings you joy and makes you feel purposeful?
How does it really feel?
How can you bring more of this feeling into your everyday life?
You can start sharing your gifts now, even if it's a bit messy!
There are people who are waiting to be impacted by YOU only.
Your purpose doesn't have to be your whole career. You can have a career that doesn't necessarily feel like your purpose, but you still enjoy. You can still fulfill your purpose by just being your unique YOU.
YOU are your purpose. And every moment you choose alignment, you’re living it.
